About Casavane
Good design shouldn’t depend on a big budget.
Casavane helps people plan studios, home additions and small homes in plain language, then turns the idea into drawings and a materials list. The goal is simple: more good projects should start with good design.
Why we’re building this
Professional design is worth having. But for a modest project, the fee can take a large share of the budget, and the software professionals use takes months to learn. So many people skip the design stage, rely on guesswork, or never start at all.
Materials create a second problem. Without accurate quantities it’s easy to over-order and waste money, or under-order and stall the build halfway through.
Casavane is a design partner for the early stages: from a first idea, to a concept you can walk through, to drawings a professional can pick up and a list you can price.
What we believe
Start in plain language
You shouldn’t need the jargon to describe what you want. Say it your way, and Casavane asks the questions a designer would.
Checked, not guessed
Layouts are tested against building rules, spans and clearances before you see them. When something is uncertain, it’s flagged, not hidden.
Professionals stay in the loop
Structural design and permit applications need a qualified professional’s sign-off. We help you arrive with a clear brief and good drawings.
Your work is yours
Drawings export to DWG, DXF, IFC and PDF, so you can take them to any architect, engineer, builder or authority with no lock-in.
What Casavane isn’t
Casavane is for the stages before a professional signs off: working out what you want, whether it fits, and roughly what it will take. Being clear about its limits is part of the product.
Not a licensed professional
It doesn’t replace an architect or engineer, and it doesn’t issue stamped or certified drawings.
Not a guarantee of approval
Local authorities make their own decisions. Casavane helps you prepare, it can’t promise an outcome.
Not a substitute for site checks
Ground conditions, existing structures and local requirements still need to be confirmed on site.
Where we’re starting
We’re beginning with small, common projects and adding coverage step by step, including the rules for each region. Tell us where you’re building so we know where to go next.
Studios, outbuildings and home additions
Small, single-storey projects are standardised enough to check well, and common enough to matter.
Loft and attic conversions
More complex structure and access, with deeper checks and closer engineer involvement.
Small homes
Full small-scale new builds, once the foundations are proven on smaller projects.
