How it works

From a sentence to a set of drawings.

Casavane keeps one model of your project underneath everything. You describe it, shape it, and get drawings and a materials list that always match.

1Stage 1 of 4

Describe what you want

Start the way you’d talk to a designer. Say what you’re building, who it’s for and what matters to you. Add photos, a sketch or a site plan if you have them, and a budget if you’d like one to guide the options.

You

  • Describe your idea in your own words
  • Add photos, sketches or a site plan
  • Share a rough budget and your location

Casavane

  • Asks about light, orientation and how you’ll use the space
  • Notes constraints, such as an existing tree
  • Turns your answers into a brief you can edit
We’d like a studio at the back of our property for working from home. Sunny, and we want to keep the apple tree.
Lovely. Two quick questions: who will use it, and does it need a toilet?
Just me. No toilet.

Everything beyond your first sentence is optional.

2Stage 2 of 4

Shape a concept

Casavane offers a few layouts that respect your brief. Compare them, then change anything by talking or dragging: move a wall, resize a window, swap the kitchen to another side. Walk through the space in 3D and see how daylight moves through it during the year.

You

  • Compare the layout options
  • Ask for changes in plain words, or drag things around
  • Walk through in 3D and check the sun

Casavane

  • Keeps every option within the rules and your budget
  • Updates the whole model after each change
  • Shows daylight and sun studies

Draw the schematics

When you’re happy with the concept, Casavane produces dimensioned drawings: floor plans, elevations, sections and construction details. They export in standard formats, so an architect, engineer, surveyor or builder can open them in whatever software they use.

You

  • Review the drawings
  • Export DWG, DXF, IFC or PDF
  • Send them to professionals

Casavane

  • Dimensions and annotates every drawing
  • Keeps the drawings in step with the model
  • Marks anything that needs a professional’s review

Order what you need

The materials list comes from the same model as the drawings, so the two always match. Quantities include a waste allowance, and Casavane can compare options, such as timber frame against masonry, on cost, carbon and insulation. Live supplier prices can be added where available.

You

  • Compare build options
  • Choose your materials
  • Take the list to your suppliers

Casavane

  • Counts every item from the model
  • Adds waste allowances
  • Updates the list whenever you change the design

One model behind every number.

Nothing is drawn or counted separately. Change a wall, a window or a material, and everything that depends on it changes too.

Checked at every step.

Casavane proposes. A separate rules engine checks. Anything uncertain is flagged for a professional, never hidden.

1

Propose

The AI suggests layouts and construction details that fit your brief.

2

Check

A rules engine tests each design against building rules, spans, boundary setbacks and escape routes for your region.

3

Anything uncertain is marked, with a note on who should look at it.

Made to hand over to professionals.

Structural design and permit applications need a qualified professional’s sign-off. Casavane doesn’t replace that. It gets you there with a clear brief, standard-format drawings, a check report and a materials list, so an architect, engineer or builder can start from something solid.

You can also add an independent engineer review to any project. See pricing

What you need to start.

  • An idea, in your own words
  • Your location, so the right rules apply
  • Photos, a sketch or a site plan (optional)
  • A rough budget (optional)

Questions about how it works

Do I need CAD or design experience?

No. You describe what you want in plain language and make changes by talking or dragging. Casavane handles the drawing.

How accurate are the quantities?

They’re calculated from your own drawings and include a waste allowance, so they’re a strong starting point for pricing. Your builder or supplier should confirm them before you order.

Which countries and regions are supported?

We’re starting with a small number of regions and adding more step by step. Join the waitlist and tell us where you’re building.

Can I keep changing the design?

Yes. Each project includes 90 days of design changes, and every change updates the drawings and the materials list.

Are the drawings ready to submit for a permit?

They’re a starting point. Most places need a qualified professional’s sign-off before a permit application, which is why we flag anything uncertain and offer optional engineer review.
